Capital Tower – Roof & Structural Works
We delivered a new rooftop terrace at Capital Tower (15th floor), creating approximately 250 sqm of usable roof space. The project involved building a timber-joist base directly on the existing steel roof structure, laying timber decking across the surface and adding a secure perimeter fence to ensure safety at height.
On the rooftop we installed a timber-and-decking base, with a 1.5 m high glass-and-board perimeter barrier to allow panoramic city views while maintaining security. We also constructed a seating zone and a compact rooftop bar – ideal for small events, performances or social gatherings.
Because all materials had to be carried by hand up stairs (large items couldn’t fit the lift), the works required precise logistics and careful handling. Due to rooftop wind load, all fixings were installed strictly to design and specification to ensure long-term structural safety and durability.
Our works included:
- Timber-joist roof base build-up on existing steel roof
- Full timber decking installation across rooftop
- Erection of 1.5 m perimeter fence: lower section timber-board, upper section clear polycarbonate panels for views
- Construction of seating area and rooftop bar structure
- All material handling and delivery via stair access (due to lift limitations)
- Secure mechanical fixings and wind-load rated fastenings for elevated rooftop conditions
This page showcases progress photos of the works. Final project description and scope details will be added as soon as available.
